Scott Smallwood:
composer, percussionist, and sound artist, began creating electronic music on his tape recorder as a boy growing up in the mountains of Colorado. He has since gone on to become a respected composer and performer in the realm of electronic music. Scott studied compostion at Miami University of Ohio, and the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, where he received his M.M. in computer music composition. As a percussionist, Scott studied with Dan Adams and William Albin, and Ghanaian master drummer Paschal Younge. His work has been performed widely throughout the U.S. and abroad, including performances at the 1996 International Computer Music Conference in Hong Kong, and Lincoln Center in New York. An accomplished steel-pan player, Scott is noted for his use of traditional steel-pan drums in not-so-traditional environments, such as 50-Man Machine.
