This is where it gets fun!

The majority of our special orders have been 4 piece sets in a 'rolled tartan travel secretary' for a loved ones special occasion, say birthday or retirement, or as Ceremonial Awards for Piping Competitions and etc. Sets can be made to include pen, pencil, letter opener, magnifier or fountan pen presented in box or tartan secretary pouch. As with regular orders, it's best to contact me, Collier Hyams, by phone, (703)913-6143 , or email so that we can discuss specifics and pricing.

Left - A wedding pen in prized Pink Ivory wood from South Africa and Ebony from Gaboon mounted in bone and antler to symbolize the bride and groom respectively. This fountain pen was designed to fit the bride and groom's characters with beaded and combed, mounted Ebony and smooth ergonomic Pink Ivory. We also designed and made their 18k gold wedding bands which have engraved two small Pictish or Celtic birds facing each other.

Some things to think about:

1) Please allow enough time for your order to be hand crafted - if it is a Christmas order allow at least a 2-3 weeks or preferably a month. This all depends on the status of our waiting list, so contact us for details.

2) We have to order your specific Tartan (hunting, day, dress, ancient, muted, district) to make your carrying pouch so please discuss this with us in detail. Not all variations are available. Tartan can be used as presentation box liner in some cases.

3) It is possible for us to use a material that has some meaning to you. For example we delivered a beautiful African Blackwood fountain pen in a presentation box utilizing aged 'Holly' wood from the unknowing recipient's garden to make the mount. A nice sentimental touch. Others have offered antler or ivory from old bagpipes or some other heirloom to be used.

4) Engraved brass plates are a possibility on orders with fitted presentation boxes.
